According to one of the most recent FBI crime reports, it was stated that property crimes were 3.8 lower than they had been the previous year. While the nation breathed a collective sigh of relief, there was an atmosphere of skepticism in the air.
With the economy being what it is, the gap between the “haves” and the “have-nots” has never been wider and while the Feds claim that property crime – that’s breaking and entering, vehicle theft, etc. – is at a low, that doesn’t mean people shouldn’t still be prepared. If you are one of these people who isn’t convinced that their home is secure enough, then you really ought to look into a New York ADT system or the like. There are also a number of other things you can do to make your home seem a little less opulent like drawing the shades in your house and not leaving the doors unlocked, and if you need even more suggestions you should consult with your local law enforcement.
And remember that while crime rates may have lowered, you don’t want to be caught off your guard. Be safe and be smart – protect your home and your family any way you can.
